Was there notification of removal? If so, what was the reason given?

“We removed your post bescuae it doesn’t follow our Community Guidelines”

Was there the opportunity to appeal? If so, did you appeal and what was the response?

No. I did repost and this too was taken down.

What, if any, were the consequences of the removal for you?

The main consequence is that a fascist leader who was spewing racist hate was enabled to do so and Instagram suppressed a dissident artwork. The work was popular and many people were inspired by it, commenting on it and pointing others to it. Instagram’s censorship stopped it form spreading right at a moment when more people needed to be sharing art and ideas like this.

Authoritarian leaders rely on getting wider and wider circles of people to accept what was formerly unacceptable as normal. And censorship like this facilitates these outrages as being unchallenged and more widely accepted than they actually are.
